What’s it all about?

Once upon a time I came to Lisbon to teach English as a foreign language for a period of 9 months – and here I still am over a decade later. I fell in love with this beautiful city and also acquired a husband and two children along the way. Collected here are various thoughts on a life lived in lovely Lisboa. ‘Bifa’ is a slang name used by the Portuguese to describe British women and ‘Alfacinha’ is an affectionate term used to describe Lisbon natives. I am not a native of Lisbon, but these days consider myself to be almost a local.
